Ronix Wakesurf Boards FAQ
How Do I Know What Size Wakesurf to Get?
Choosing the right Wakesurf size isn't as important as choosing a size for a wakeboard or water ski but more so your ability level or experience.
If you are a beginner or new to the sport choosing something with a larger surface area like a longer or wider board will help to pop the rider out of the water with ease.
Advanced surfers or riders with more experience will enjoy a smaller board of any style. Even though a smaller board may make it a little harder to stay on the wave it allows for tighter turns and room to try tricks.
Kids will have no trouble getting up on the water on an adult size board but because kids are so light they can struggle to control the board. If you're looking at getting a board for the groms, consider a kids specific board to make their time on the water just as fun as yours!
Finding the right board size for you will also depend on your weight. Larger boards will be more suitable for heavier people whereas lighter people will be suited to a smaller board. If you're shopping at JSW Powersports, you don't have to worry! We offer Ronix wakesurfs in a large range of sizes. Check them out and find one that's right for you.
How to Choose the Right Wakesurf Board?
Choosing the right board is essential to having the best experience on the water.
When choosing your wakesurf make sure you take into consideration the size and style of the surfer. There are 3 styles of wakesurfs, Surf style , Skim style and Hybrid style surfer.
Surf styler boards are the most common and also the easiest to ride. They are designed to ride your wake the same as you would a wave in the ocean. They are generally fast boards and allow the rider to slash big turns the same way they would at the beach.
Skim style boards or ‘skimmer’ surfers are generally recommended for the more advanced riders who are looking to do spin and flick tricks. Skimmer boards are usually a smaller board so they will be harder to hold in the sweet spot and will react to movements a lot quicker.
Hybrid style surfers are a mix of a Surf style and a skim style board allowing the rider to have the best of both worlds. Hybrid boards are usually shorter than a Surf style board but not quite as short as a Skim style, they also have a multiple fin option to allow the surfer to choose how they want to ride. The hybrid style board allows everybody in the boat to customize their ride with only one board.
At JSW Powersports, we offer a wide range of styles of Ronix surfers to fit your ability and style needs.
